Firestopping Putty

Using Firestopping in Your Project

The importance of maintaining the ratings of walls is of the utmost importance in the design and construction of buildings. Fire and acoustical transmission ratings severely affect the safety and comfort afforded by all types of dwellings found worldwide. Construction techniques and materials utilized must ensure that fire and acoustical sound are limited in their propulsion throughout a structure, which they are, in a sense, contained.

Compartmentalization of both the transmission of acoustical sound and fire can easily be achieved by selecting proper materials and construction techniques. Firestopping products will not only assure the safety afforded by the containment of life threatening fire but will also ensure greater comfort levels achieved by limiting and/or eliminating the transmission of sound.

Acoustical Solutions offers a wide range of firestopping materials suitable for use in metallic conduits, telephone, data or electrical power cable penetrations, as well as common construction joint applications and head-of-wall applications. These products include putty pads and tubes, sound sleave kits and elastomeric spray and sealant. For more information on Firestopping products, please visit our firestopping webpage.
