We live in a townhouse and our bedroom wall is shared
with the neighbors kitchen and living room wall. They
are up all hours of the night and the sound was loud!
We hired a contractor to come in and put insullation
and what he called soundboard and drywall in. It didn't
do anything to soundproof. In fact, I swear it amplified
the noise and he then walked off the job.
Looking for a better solution we called Acoustical
Solutions and after talking with them, we ordered audioseal
sound barrier, alpharesiliant
isolation clips and soundseal
caulk.
My husband tore out the first contractors work and
got back to the studs, then put up 2 layers of audioseal
sound barrier , (just for extra soundproofing) used
the isolation
clips and hat channel and caulked everything. Then
we had a new contractor come in and put up drywall 5/8"
thick.
It works great! It is so quiet, we are now able to
sleep through the night. We just wanted to let you know
and thank you very much! Acoustical Solutions was very
helpful and spent a lot of time on the phone with us
and the contractors explaining how it works and how
to install it. We have passed on your info to some contractors.
If they are wise the will use it!
