Check out this very cool looking and very effective sound absorption project that we recently completed for the US Coast Guard. The architect for the Coast Guard said "Because the USCG Yard is an industrial environment and a ship building facility and (of course the military) is Macho, the acoustical absorbers give the building a "manly or tough" quality. The 2" nominal thickness (or actual 1 1/2" dimension) is desirable for aesthetics. Proportionally they work well with the structure and other elements of the building. The blankets on the walls were AQFA10 Audioseal Absorber Blankets and the cloud panels suspended above are AlphaSorb Panels.
