The AcoustiWood™ noise barrier fence and lightweight wall system is an economical lightweight wooden post-and-panel system developed specifically to reduce noise levels, including highway and industrial noise, in residential and commercial areas.

The AcoustiWood™ Fence System panels are available in three standard sizes, making retrofits to existing structures easy and cost-effective.

A variety of finishes can be applied to the AcoustiWood™ system, including "dog ear" fencing, stucco, vinyl, metals, and lattice.  The unique ability to integrate several finishes to the wall system makes the AcoustiWood™ system ideally suited for use in locations such as residential development and commercial areas, where design-specific regulations exist.

In addition to meeting the desired aesthetic needs for a project, the AcoustiWood™ system can also be designed to fit AASHTO standards for commercial projects.

The fence system carrys very high STC and NRC ratings, which are 31 and 1.00 respectively.

By applying value engineering for individual projects, the AcoustiWood™ panels can be reconfigured to meet higher or lower STC requirements.

The AcoustiWood™ system is the simple, cost effective solution for noise pollution needs.

Features and Benefits:

  • Panels can be attached to existing fences or screen walls and finished in a number of ways, including "dog ear", lattice, vinyl, metal, or stucco.
  • AcoustiWood™ reduces noise from commercial and residential HVAC equipment, chillers, pool pumps, industrial machinery, transformers, kennels, construction operations, and roadways. It can also be easily made into temporary barriers for either short or long term projects

  • The system's low weight and easy installation lower costs, and the simple straight forward design allows for easy repair and replacement if needed.

  • Karen, the AcoustiWood Fence System is made of pressure-treated lumber

  • We live close to a very busy street and have lots of traffic noise in the backyard. Backyard surrounded by 6' wooden fence. Fence limited to 6' by restrictive covenants. Do you have a product that could be applied to the yard side of the existing fence or could replace the existing fence that would reduce the traffic noise without making the fence higher than 6'? Thanks in advance.

  • Walter, you've found the right product for your problem. The AcoustiWood Fence System is the most economical and residential-looking wall or fence we sell. Whether a 6-foot fence will work to block the traffic noise at your home depends on where the noise source is (up a hill, down a hill, level, distance, etc.). There are also a few options that can be explored with one of our sales people that might allow for you to add material to your existing fence. The person at Acoustical Solutions to speak with about outdoor noise control is Jack Kay. (w)804.346.8350 (c)804.920.0040 wjk@acousticalsolutions.com

  • Hello! I just moved into a town home and discovered that the HVAC unit, which is new, makes a horrible sound every time it kicks on for about 10 seconds. It wakes me up every night and morning. What would be the best solution - build a box around it with a noise deadening wood or use sound blankets? Is it costly! Any help or thoughts greatly appreciated! Kate

  • Kate, the best way to block noise from an HVAC unit is with an acoustical blanket.  More specifically, we would recommend an absorber/barrier combination blanket.  These blankets are made of a mass-loaded vinyl sound barrier encased by absorptive material.  This allows the blanket to both absorb and block the noise.  http://www.acousticalsolutions.com/68~sound-blanket-enclosures

  • What is the price for 30 feet of acoustiwood?

    Amanda -

    3 Positive

  • Amanda, The AcoustiWood panels are available in three sizes, 5'x5', 6'x6', and 8'x6', so the price of a 30' long fence would depend on whether you want it to be 5, 6, or 8 feet tall.

The ballpark price I can give you for AcoustiWood is around $14 per square foot. This means that if you want a 5'x30' fence it may cost around $2100, a 6'x30' fence may cost around $2520, and a 8'x30' fence may cost around $3360.
